24th May - Dreamworld

We woke up early today, had our breakfast and off we go to Dreamworld.....and yes, again typical Kiasu Singaporeans, we are there even before it is opened. But well becos its a Monday (we purposely plan it on a weekday), there was not too many locals. At 9.45am, the booth opened for ticket sales and off we go. We start off the day the Nickelodeon way at Nick Central and meet all our favourite Nickelodeon friends. We tried lotsa rides and our favorite is "The Zinger".....I think I took like 5 times on this ride. Mummy cannot sit anything that goes round & round so she didnt get to enjoy at all.

In the afternoon after lunch, we headed to the Wiggles World. There's this Big Red Car ride and its so interesting. Athena, meimei & myself enjoy the rides a lot and we took like 3 times in all.
Finally, Daddy ends off the day with a thrilling ride - The Claw together with Uncle Kevin. He says its rather scary but its still better than the "Wipe Out" which he took the last time he was there with Mummy (tik is 11 years ago)

23rd May - Seaworld

Today's plan is to head to Seaworld but before that, we are (more like the adults) are heading to the pier near the Seaworld for some fresh catch of prawns for breakfast.....yes, very sinful food. Prawns for brekkie. For us kids, we already have our cereals in the apartment so we just run along while the adults indulged....heehee.

Then, after a short drive, we reached Seaworld. We are there even before the gate opened for ticket sales. The weather was nice - cooling. We took some pictures along the way and headed to watch the all new Seal show- Fish Detectives. It was not really interesting but Mummy bought for me a big cup of popcorns so ok lah. Then we headed to the Dolphin Cove to catch the enchanting interactive Dolphin Show.

After 2 shows, its time to hit the fun place.....Sesame Street Beach where all the kiddy rides are. And there's also live stage show showing Bert & Ernie's Island holiday. At about 1pm, we headed to Plaza Bakery to grab our lunch. And its back to more kiddy rides.

We played until 5pm, catch the last show and headed out to Peter's Fish Market which is just a short drive from Seaworld for dinner. Its only 5plus but the sky was already pitched dark, machiam like 9pm. Well, we had very reasonable priced and yummy fish & chips, prawns n oysters.....and looking forward to more fun tomorrow!

22nd May - Carrara Market, Tropical Fruit Farm, Broachbeach

Its the weekend and we are heading to Carrara Market - the biggest and best permanent markets in Queensland which opens every sat & sun from 7am to 4pm. We arranged to meet early at 8.30am so we can have breakfast together. I have pancakes while meimei has her favorite hotdog and both of us shared a cup of hot chocolate. After the hearty breakfast, we walked around the market to check for good bargains and Daddy bought for me a tinkerbell sweatsuit.....and its in my favorite color - purple. We left the market at about 12noon and headed to the next stop - Tropical Fruit Farm which is approximately 2hrs drive away.

After the good afternoon nap cum drive, we finally reached the destination located at NSW. After getting the admission tickets, we wait for the big tractor ride to bring us around the farm. We get to see a lot of tropical fruits and even had a try at cracking the macadamia nuts....its so fun. Then, we moved along to the plantation safari, had a try on the mini train ride, jungle riverboat cruise where we get to feed the ducks and ended the tour with the fruit tasting show. Yummy! We left the place at about 4pm and headed back to Gold Coast.

Still feeling fresh & alert, we decided to check out the beach which is just a mere 5 mins walk away. Aunty M packed Irvin's sand toys and we have our fun building sandcastle and taking pictures.

Dinner tonite is pizza and kebabs in our room.....and more pecan nut cracking and dora movie. Its so relaxing....oooo, I just love holidays.

21st May - Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary

Today's activity is to spend the whole day at Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary. We woke up early at 8am and arranged to leave the apartment by 9am so we can reach the CWS at 9.30am. Its located very near the Broadbeach so its juz a mere 20mins drive. But by the time we reached the location, its raining.

Luckily, Daddy bought for me & meimei each a raincoat before the trip, at the pasar malam near our place and its in our favourite color - pink. Geared up properly, we headed to the information counter to exchange for our pass and the adults bought their ponchos and we started our journey in the CWS.

We took the miniature train ride to our first stop -PresentationArena to catch the "Totally Wild & Snake Alive" show at 10.30am. The show ended after 20mins and for those who are game enough can queue up to take a picture with the possum and the snake. Athena, meimei & myself are not scared at all and were happy to hold the snake and snap a picture together......brave right?
Next show we caught is the "Free Flight Bird Show" at 11.30am which features magnificent birds of prey and colorful parrots. By this time, the rain becomes drizzle and it was better to walk. We went to the Koalas & Wombat enclosure and see all the Koalas cuddling up to sleep.....For lunch, we settle for burgers and fish & chips at the Koala Junction. Then, we head to the Kangaroos Flats to feed the kangaroos. Halfway thru the feeding, it started to pour really heavy. We stayed in the shelter to shield from the rain but all the kangaroos started to come in too.....so imagine a shelter with kangaroos and humans....its rather scary for kids our size....so I got scared and started crying. No choice, Daddy cuddle me and ran to the next shelter while Mummy carry meimei and ran too. We waited for the miniature train to come but it was fully packed. The next rain will be 20 mins later.....and instead of waiting at the same location, we decided to run to the stop before this, so we get a better chance to take the train. At 3pm, we left CWS after getting some souvenirs.
Before we hop into our car, we headed to Honeyworld which is located just opposite CWS. Aunty KC recommended this place and told us to try some honey. I dun fancy any of them but Daddy bought 1 small tub of honey for his honey-glazed chicken and another -25 Eureka honey for healing purpose.

We then headed back to our apartment for a warm bath and to change to a set of fresh dry clothings. For dinner, we had it at yellowfin restaurant located just a mere 2mins walk from our apartment. For dining between 5pm to 6pm, we get to enjoy 40% discount. Very good deal! We ordered a seafood platter for two & beef steak to share.....fresh & yummy. Then for dessert, we headed to Gelato just at the corner.

20th May - Lillydale, Vineyard to Gold Coast
We will be checking out of Lillydale today at 10am and drive towards Gold Coast. But before that, we have and want to do our last morning feed to all the farm animals. And finally, we get to see the donkeys of the farm - Pedro & Lucy. They refused to walk nearer to the farm so we have to pass through the fields where the cows graze and their dungs, before having a chance to feed them their favorite carrots and take a picture with them. Before we checked out, we took another family picture in the room before biding farewell. Thanks Farmer Doug and Aunty Trin for the great hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay.

Next destination - O'Reilly Vineyard as recommended by Lillydale. With the help of the GPS in the car, we finally reached there in time for lunch. We bought a bottle of wine to go with the cheese platter set we ordered. And seeing that its still early to drive towards Gold Coast, we had a little picnic at the Vineyard. Mummy drank a bit too much, had a little snooze....while Daddy, Uncle K and me tried climbing up the tree. And before we set off, we kids have a race in the vineyards....so fun!

And after a good 2-hrs drive, we finally reached Gold Coast and to Hi-Ho Beach Apartment located at Queensland Ave, Broadbeach where we wil be staying for the next 7 days. This apartment is near the beach and it costs only A$900 for 7 nights for a 2-bedroom apartment. The condition of the room is not fantastic but its location is perfect...near beach, nice restaurants, playgrounds etc etc.

After settling down, we headed out for dinner which is just a mere 5mins walk, followed by grocery shopping at Woolworths for the next few morning breakfasts. Athena & Irvin came over to our room to play for a while before retiring to sleep at 10pm. Tomorrow gonna be a busy day for us....stay tuned.

19th May - Lillydale Farmstay

Another full day in the farm...yipee! We woke up early cos we have to be ready by 8.30am for the morning feed. Farmer Doug brought us around to the chicken coops to feed the chickens, collect the eggs, feed the wallabies (shorty), pig (Oinky), lamb (nemo)....but still no sign of the donkeys (pedro lucy). Farmer Doug even gave us a one big pumpkin....hmm, wonder what are we gonna do with it?

After the morning animal feed, we went to the trampolin to have some fun while Daddy gets himself busy at the BBQ area cooking our breakfast of bacons, hams and sausages.

After breakfast, we went for our pony-ride. Athena & Irvin went along first, followed by us. Farmer Doug led the bigger pony that I was riding while Aunty Trin guided meimei's one. It was a long 30mins pony-riding down the end of the farm for each of us and it cost only A$40 in all. Very worth it, right?

For the late morning activity, we went hiking to the cave at the other far end of the farm, cutting through the
big field where the cows grazed but you must be careful cos there's cow dung everywhere.....heehe. Meimei enjoys the walk cos she spotted lotsa of beautiful yellow flowers along the way. We took a group picture at the top of the cave before making our way back to the farm.

For lunch, its maggie noodles which we brought from home....yummy!!.and then its more pecan-nut picking. We really enjoy collecting the pecan nuts that has fallen down from the trees. Its so fun! The next activity we plan for ourselves is fishing but before that, Uncle K, Aunty M, Athena & Irvin are heading for their tractor ride. We are not really interested so we waited for them in the room.

We didnt managed to catch any fish (which is ok) cos our daddies brought us out on a fishing boat - a nice experience - just 4 kids and 2 daddies....while the mummies waited for us at the jetty. We paddle around the small lake and make it back in time for the afternoon feed session at 4pm.

For dinner, instead of BBQing, we decide to order from the farm. The adults have their wagyu beef pie with rice while we have our kids' meals of chicken nuggets and french fries. Dessert is macademia nut tart for the adults and vanilla ice-cream for the kids.

Today is really a fulfilling day, tired but fun fun fun all the way......think we gonna KO really early tonitez....

18th May - Lillydale Farmstay
We woke up at 8am, had our shower and checked out of the motel at 10am. Then its a long scenic drive to our next accomodation but before that, we had to fill our tummy. Daddy managed to locate a small town - Jimborin and it has woolworths, Coles and nice eating place. Daddy asked the locals, where we can get nice Fish & Chips and was recommended a takeaway shop near Coles. We "dabao" a seafood basket with fish, calamari, chips and ate at a cafe. Then, we headed back to Woolworth & local butchery to get our BBQ food for the night, breakfast for the next 2 days, juices, milk etc etc.

Then, its back on the road and another long 2hrs scenic drive to Lillydale. Thanks to the GPS in the car, we reached the homestay at about 4pm. We were then showed to our Harper Room where there is a bunker bed, a sofa bed and a queen size bed.
We then walked around the farm while we waited for Aunty M, Uncle K, Athena & Irvin to arrive. By 4.30pm, they were not here yet, so Aunty Trin says we will have to go ahead with the afternoon feed for the animals or else at 5pm, the sky will be too dark to move around the farm.

We fed Nemo the lamb, the chickens, collect their eggs, the pig and the wallabies. And thank God, Uncle K managed to find the way to the farm just before the sky turned dark. *applause*

Then, while Daddy get ready for the BBQ dinner, we entertained yourself drawing and coloring. Dinner for the adults is BBQ steak, mushrooms, corn, sausage with a bottle of red wine...for us kids, its sausage, chicken kebabs, corn and bread.....

After the sumptuous dinner, its shower-time......brrrr, it was cold coming out from the shower. We changed into our warm pyjamas and headed to the common area where there's a big pool table. Daddy & Uncle K had a game and we kids were just cheering at every ball that goes in.....hahaha.

Lights out at 11pm which is only 9pm in Singapore.....we looking forward to more fun in the farm tomorrow.

17th May - Spore, KL, Sydney, Brisbane

Yipee....the day is finally here.....We are leaving early this morning to Brisbane, Australia but the whole day will be spent on the plane cos we have to transit a few stops .... no choice as we are taking Malaysia airlines but its all worth it cos the price of air-ticket for each pax is only $598 inclusive of all tax. We just sleep, eat, sleep, eat....
6.45am - SIN to Kuala Lumpur
9.00am - Kuala Lumpur to Sydney
8.15pm - Sydney to Brisbane
9.45pm - Finally arrived to destination

After declaring all the food like maggie noodles, chilli sauce, milk powder and cereal, we are happy that we got the 'go-ahead' from the quarantine officer and we do not need to dispose any of the food (phew). Then we proceeded to the pickup location to wait for the driver from Andrew Airport Parking to bring us to our rental car. And after a few wrong turns, we finally reached our first night accomodation - Airport Inn Motel almost past midnight. We will be sharing the 2-bedroom apartment together with Aunty M & family......that will be fun. But its really late now, will update more tml.

An afternoon of Fun

We reached Marina Square bowling alley right on the dot - 4pm and met our friends - Aidan. Keith, Esther, Cedric, Athena & Irvin for a game of bowling....yes, its a game cos we took a good 2 hours to play just 1 game each. Our daddies & mummies were all getting impatient...hehe.
Mummy joined us at about 5pm, after she finished her wine event at Fullerton Hotel. By the time, our game of bowling game ended, its almost 6.10pm, and its time for dinner. We then walked all the way to Suntec City for our dinner at Cafe iLido. Aunty HY suggested this place cos UOB cardholders get to enjoy 1-for-1 meal, so it was very worth it. We ordered 8 sets of main course and garlic bread to share among 3 families cos we were seated together...and guess how much each family have to pay......only $24!!! Its $24 for a family of 4....for a very yummlicious and hearty Italian meal. I tik the promotion ends end of May, so go while the promotion still valid.....hehe.
After dinner, we headed to Carrefour for shopping while the rest of our friends headed home.

Labor Day Holiday

Its a public holiday falling on a saturday....which means no lessons....yipee! So what better way to spend the day ..... is to head to Daddy's favourite breakfast place - Cafe Epicurious. We reached at about 10.30am but waited for about 10mins before getting a place to seat. The place is really famous for breakfast. Yiyi also joined us...just like the last time. After the hearty breakfast, we dropped Mummy over to Fullerton Hotel cos she is meeting Aunty Pearly to go to the wine event organised by Aunty Jo's company. For the rest of us, we are heading home to play Pet Society...hehe, then we are meeting our friends for a game of bowling at 4pm.
