CNY BBQ @ Eastvale

Its BBQ time with our usual khakis and Daddy preparing a new dish - Pork Ribs with GuGu's special BBQ sauce. Aunty KC preparing potato and veg salad; Aunty HY preparing prawn, sotong and Cocktail Jelly; Aunty Cath bought satays while Aunty Mel prepared beef, bacon with bananas, sausage and the disposables.

We had a great time playing bubbles and when night falls, we played with glowstick, sparklers or simply running around the pool. More pictures were then taken before packing up at 10pm and its home sweet home.

Thank you, Uncle Kevin/Aunty Mel for hosting! The food and companion are simply great!

26th February

This date is a special date for Daddy & Mummy.......7 years ago, both of them signed on the dotted line to become husband and wife and since then, every year on this date.....they will make a point to celebrate together. Just to help them recap....

Although they have already celebrated yesterday at Bar & Billards but it was a free meal....so Mummy think they can still go and have a mini celebration....away from us...(humph). Nevermind, its the weekend so we have our laptop to entertain us, forgive them....hehe.

They drove to Goldhill Plaza and tried this restaurant which GuGu been mentioning for a long time. They wanted to just order something simple and light but the restaurant was serving their CNY special menu and it cost $88 per pax....but seeing the crowd in the restaurant, Daddy & Mummy decided to go for it and it was really good....Mummy was telling me how fresh the sashimi is, how the toro actually melts in her mouth and its definitely worth it....and they will be back for more.

Copper Anniversary

Daddy & Mummy are celebrating their copper anniversary today - 1 day in advance at Bar & Billards @ Raffles Hotel. Daddy received a complimentary dining voucher from the Raffles Group so decided to use it on their anniversary but too bad, 26th Feb which is their actual date is fully-booked so they make-do with 25th Feb. And beside the meal for 2 is free, they also get to have 1 bottle for wine for free cos its their wedding anniversary. How nice right!!

Gareth didi - 1st month old

So fast, Gareth didi turned 1 month old and there is a mini celebration at the function room of Lilydale. MaMa prepared some food while the rest were ordered from Lee Wee Brothers. We stayed at the function room till almost 6pm before heading back to PePe's house to watch TV. The adults play a few rounds of poker before wrapping up for home at 10pm.

Dinner at VivoCity

Today is small small GongGong's actual birthday - 18th Feb. He turned 71 this year. To celebrate, we all headed to Vivocity for an early dinner (Daddy not working, Mummy on half-day leave). Yiyi joined us after her work too. After dinner, Daddy, Mummy & I rushed for my Group music lesson that starts at 8pm while Yiyi, GongGong, Tutti jiejie and meimei went to do some art & craft before heading home in MRT.

Small small GongGong's 71st Birthday Celebration

Daddy is not working today. Mummy is on half-day leave. After her work, all of us headed to Compass Point to shop as well as to get small small GongGong's birthday cake. There is a mini gathering at 4th "lau-gou" house so Mummy decided to buy a cake and let all the "lau-gou" celebrate gongong's birthday today which is 1 day in advance.

3rd day of Lunar New Year

With no plans to go out today, Daddy & Mummy decided to "chio" our friends to our place for gathering as well as to "loi-hei"......this "loi-hei" is very special cos instead of using vegetables, we are using fruits. Uncle NS prepared most of the fruits and crackers while Daddy prepared the mango and apples. Everyone reached at about 2pm and we entertained our friends with Nintendo Wii, playhouse disney channel in the master bedroom.....as for the adults, Uncle Jeffrey, Aunty Cath, Uncle NS and Daddy played their game of mahjong in Tutti jiejie's room.

We played till almost 6pm then we gathered around the dining table for our "loi-hei". Its really refreshing and nice!

At about 7pm, everyone headed home...but before that, Esther & I took a picture together. Mummy & Aunty HY were commenting how big both of us look like now as compared to 4 years ago when we first knew each other...hee. Below picture shows the picture we took in 2006, 2008 and now.

2nd day of Lunar New Year

Today, we will be heading to Granduncle Calvin's place (Bukit Timah) for lunch and of cos to "bai-nian". Grandaunty Yolande always cook really nice meal and we are so looking forward to it. After the sumptuous steamboat lunch, we gathered to take some group photos.

Then, we headed to PekPek's house (Yishun) and GuGu's house again (Kovan) for a simple dinner. Last stop, we headed to Lau-Gou house (Ang Mo Kio) before heading home at 11pm.

1st stop - GuGu's house (Kovan) to "bai-nian" with GuGu, GuZhang and MaMa.

2nd stop - Big Big GongGong's house (Lor Ah Soo) for Vegetarian breakfast

3rd stop - Lau Gu / Lau-Ma's house (Serangoon North)

Then, is back home where small small GongGong's side of relatives will all gather. And they will stay until very late playing mahjong and poker cards and even Wii. I was happy receiving angpows and hiding in the aircon room playing my laptop.

Chinese New Year Eve

For our reunion meal, we are having lunch cos Yiyi and Uncle Mark will be heading to their nanny's place for dinner. And instead of the usual steamboat, we are having sukiyaki....yummy! I simply luv having beef with rice. But first thing first....we are having Yu-sheng again.

After the late lunch, we laze at home, watched TV, played our laptop until almost evening then we headed to PePe's house to pick up our camera which we left behind. Then, before heading home, we went to a nursery near Jln Kayu to buy the pussywillows.

Once home, we changed to our new pyjamas....and its good nite! Got to wake up early tomorrow to go MaMa, GongGong's house to bai-nian.

Eve of CNY Eve

We are having our reunion dinner with daddy's side of family tonitz and its planned at PePe's house (cos Aunty Cheryl is still having confinement). Well, luckily, Mummy's company declared working hours till 3pm while Daddy's one till 4pm for today. So, we can all head to PePe's house early to prepare the feast. After work, Mummy came home to pick us up, before heading to MaMa's house to pick everyone else then to Daddy's office and finally to PePe's house.....

After Uncle Andrew & Dylan gorgor arrive, we started with Yusheng, then followed by MaMa's famous shark's fin soup before starting the yummylicious steamboat dinner.

Since there's no class or activity tomorrow, we stayed at PePe's place to play with Xavia until almost midnite before heading home. Looking forward to another round of feasting tomorrow afternoon.

Navy CNY Celebration

Uncle Melvin (Uncle Mark's brother)'s ship is organising a CNY celebration and they invited family & friends onboard their ship to join in the fun. Yiyi and Uncle Mark took leave that day and brought me all the way to Tuas for the event. Meimei didnt get to go cos Mummy is worried that Yiyi & Uncle Mark cannot handle both of us.....Yiyi came to my school to pick me up early at 11.15am and we took a cab to Tuas End. Uncle Melvin showed us around the huge ship that he is in-charge.

After checking out the ship, its time to look for lunch. Uncle Melvin gave us a ride out to Joo Koon MRT and we took MRT down to Jurong Point for lunch.

And the last stop before we head home is to Icing Room where I get to decorate a cake singlehandly. Yiyi helped me a little bit but most of the decor is done by me.....I made a Valentine's Day cake for Daddy & Mummy.

A day of shopping and more shopping

Its 8 days to Chinese New Year but meimei & I only have 1 set of CNY clothings each, definitely not enough for the 3 days of CNY celebration. So Daddy & Mummy decide that today's "to-do list" is to complete buying all that is needed for the "Tiger" Year......first stop, we headed to Marina Square and we managed to get 4 dresses for both meimei & myself as well as our pyjamas and panties. Then, we headed to Orchard Central and 313@Somerset for Daddy & Mummy to shop for their clothings and shoes. Daddy managed to get everything he wanted from Timberland while Mummy got hers at Forever 21. Everyone is happy with their purchase and we headed to a Japanese Restaurant at 313@Somerset for our dinner.
