A Day In the Ranch & Farm

Its a cool morning in Hualien. After breakfast, we rushed to feed the calves. The morning timing to be nanny is from 8.30am to 10.30am. We reached there at 10.15am, just in time for their last few rounds of bottle feeding. I dare not hold the bottle, so Daddy helped me.

Next stop, we headed to the Little Animals Area, where both meimei & I get to ride on the pony for only 50 NT. Esther & Aidan also had their round.

Then, we spent 10NT for a big bunch of pandan looking kind of leaves to feed all the little animals there. There's rabbit, guinea pigs, horses, deers etc.

Then, its off to Butterfly Park to take some pictures. We touched the butterflies, blow at them, so fun!

Then, we slowly made our way to a Coffee Shop right in the middle of the flower garden to have our lunch. Esther, Aidan & I each have mini cup noodle while Daddy & Uncle NS went to a nearby food kiosk to buy snacks for the adults. After lunch, we went to take pictures with all the little statues around the park.

and also have some fun at the playground.

At about 3pm, we head to the Visitor Centre to catch the buggy back to our room as it was starting to rain. We then had our bath, took our nap and then its out for dinner again. At night, its again DVD player time....tonite, we are watching Dora The Explorer. By 11pm, its lights out and Goodnitz.....But for Daddy, Mummy, Uncle NS and Aunty Cath, they played cards till 1.30am then sleep.

Going to a Farm...

Today is already our 4th day in Taiwan, 3rd day in Hualien. The weather is not too bad, so meimei & I decide to have a morning sun-bath.....want to join us??

We are checking out of the motel at 10.30am but since there is still some time, Aunty HY suggested that we have a walk at the beach. It was quite a pebbly walk but it is all worth it when we see such nice view....there's this long long rows of cross-looking rocks. Really amazing.....wonder how they placed all these rocks there.

Then, its back to our room to collect our luggage and then saying our goodbyes to Ah-Fu and Dao Mao.

2 Chiu jiejies then drove us in 2 separate cars to SKCF Farm Resort, about 30mins drive away. We arrived at about noon but it was still early to check-in, so we explore the area, had our lunch first.

At 4.30pm, we finally got into our rooms. Esther is staying at Room 838, Aidan at 839 and I am at 840. But it was still early for dinner so Mummy, Aunty HY and Aunty Cath took the chance to go to the Hotspring for a warm bath while Daddy, me and meimei have our short nap.

At 6pm, we headed to the restaurant for our free dinner. Its all in the package with free breakfast, free dinner, free hotspring, free entrance to the farm. Well, tonite is rainy cold night......tik its about 14 degree.....blrrrrrr but I find it really shiok. After dinner, all of us stayed in my room to watch DVD before saying our goodnights at 10pm. Daddy, Mummy, Aunty Cath and Uncle NS stayed on to play their cards till about 3am.

Good morning, Hualien.....

We are going to Hualien Ocean Park today but before that, lets go for breakfast prepared. There's sweet potato porridge, scrambled eggs, pork floss, bread etc.
At 10am, we made our way to Farglory Ocean Park which is juz 4 mins drive from our motel.
We had lotsa fun playing on the rides, watching sealion, dolphins etc.
At 4+, we called the jiejie in Sea-Hi B&B and she came to pick us back to the motel. We then took our bath and had our short nap while Daddy, Uncle NS and Aunty Catherine went to prepare for our BBQ. Daddy proposed the idea for BBQ since it always fun to have BBQ in a cool weather. The menu is a standard kind for 6 pax, 10 pax etc with marinated meat, hotdogs, bread, corn etc. With the BBQ pit, food and cleaning up, we spent NT 650 per family. After BBQ, we went into Esther's room to watch DVD while Daddy, Mummy, Uncle NS and Aunty Cat had fun playing cards.......
Oh yes, today also marked Daddy & Mummy's 6th year anniversary.......though there's no nice candlelight dinner for them but I noe Daddy & Mummy had fun spending time with their friends together BBQ under charcoal fire....hehe.

2nd Day in Taiwan ~ An eventful day

After checking out of the hotel, we walked all the way to Taipei Main Station to catch our train to Hualien. We bought the 9.30am tickets (kids below 110cm is free but if you want a seat for the kid, it will be half-priced, or else it will be sitting on Daddy or Mummy's lap). Once we are on board the train, Daddy realised that he has forgotten his red backpack. Daddy quickly alerted the conductor on board and he walkie-talkie the station manager to search the area and Thank God, it was indeed still at the station. They will arrange to send it over to Hualien Station for us to pickup.
When I realised that our bag was missing, I kept telling Daddy that we need to go back Taiwan....I want to go back Taiwan now. Luckily, Uncle NS helped to pacify me with their portable DVD player. I sat on his lap and watch Dora with Esther together for almost the 1st 40mins. The 2nd part of the journey, we entertained ourselves with drawing and coloring with my crayons.

2 hours later, we reached Hualien Station and Chiu Papa & Chiu MaMa was already at the station waiting to pick us up. But becos our backpack will only arrived in another hr time, Chiu Papa brought Uncle NS & Esther to do their errand before fetching Daddy & me from the station with our bag. Mummy, meimei & the rest took the other car and checked into the motel first.

After collecting our backpack from the station, we hurried to the restaurant near our motel for our seafood lunch. 9 seafood dishes + 1 soup cost us NT 4000 which is about SGD 180. Not too bad but too much for 6 adults + 5 kids loh. It was pre-ordered by the Chiu Mama, so no choice. Then, the 2nd eventful thing happened.......Mummy lost her camera! She wanted to take picture of the lunch but realised it was not in her bag. After lunch, we went back to the motel to check but it was not in the room. Mummy recalled that she had taken a picture of meimei before boarding the car to the restaurant so it has to be lost either in the motel, car or restaurant. She checked the restaurant area but cannot be found. She checked the car but it was locked cos the lady boss has gone out and will be back only at 5pm. At 4+, the lady boss was back. Daddy & Mummy then checked the car but there was no sign of the camera. Oh NO!!!
Then, while Daddy & Mummy went out to the nearby police post to file for report, meimei & I stayed around the motel with the rest to take photos and have fun at the playground.During this time, Chiu MaMa called the restaurant to check if they have seen any camera.....and Voila, it was indeed in the restaurant. They have found it at the carpark area. Phew!! So instead of going to the police post, Daddy & Mummy went to the restaurant to pick up the camera.......Thank God for watching over us and our things!! Hope there is no more such thing!!
In the evening, we headed to Hualien City for dinner and shopping. It will be a fun day tomorrow, got to sleep early.

Taiwan, Here I come......
We are taking Jetstar Asia Flight 3K 521 departing at 1350hrs and we are arranging to meet up with the rest at 1130hrs. Here's meimei & me in the cab on the way to T1. Bye Bye Tutti jiejie, See you in a 10 days time.
After taking our lunch at Terminal 1 Staff Canteen....(hmm, I didnt eat cos I was feeling grouchy), we headed for our boarding Gate for our flight.
Our flight departed right on time. After the seat-belt sign is off, I complained to Daddy that I am feeling hungry. Daddy then ordered me a packet of chicken rice which cost S$10. But, the rice is not nice at all.......I only eat the chicken pieces.
Our flight landed on time at 1850hrs and here's the 1st picture of all of us together in Taiwan......
We booked on a shuttle service from airport to Taipei Main Station that cost us NT 90 each. (Kids below 110cm are free) . After reaching Taipei Main Station, we boarded a cab and reached our hotel - City Inn Hotel at about 8.30pm.
We settled our luggage and headed out to Taipei Main Station (juz about 4 mins walk) for our dinner. Esther is not feeling well, so Uncle NS went out to dabao dinner back instead while Aunty Catherine, Aidan, Daddy, Mummy, me and meimei went out to look for our dinner. We had Japanese food which is cheap and really delicious. For eg; A Tempura Bento Set cost only NT 200. We then explore the Train station to check on our ticket for tomorrow before heading back to our hotel for a good night sleep.
Going on a Holiday....

We are leaving for Taiwan today, for 10 days.
Be back on next Thursday, 5th March. I will update with photos when we are back.....

Singapore Flyer

I am going for my very first ride on Singapore Flyer this evening. All thanks to Yiyi and Uncle Mark who kindly queue up for the tickets for us. Each person is entitled to 4 free tickets upon presentation of the SMS issued by Singapore Tourism Board. Yiyi and Uncle Mark started queueing up last night at 2am and there was already almost 50 people in front of them. Anyway, with the 8 tickets, its juz nice for our family. Shaynnen meimei is free cos she is below 3 yrs old. 7 adults + 1 child....do you know that its in fact a savings of $227.15!!
Well, after I know that I will be going to the Singapore Flyer, I took out a drawing paper and starting drawing. See the below pix on what I drew. Right side is the free 8 tickets, Upper Left is how I think Singapore Flyer look like and Bottom left is the names of all the people in our family who will be going for the Singapore Flyer ride....Total: 9 persons. Can you spot all the different names! I spell most of the names myself...clever hor?

Check out all the photos taken below. After the 30 mins of flight in the Singapore Flyer, we headed to Jalepeno's Pepper for our dinner. They were having a 1-for-1 Main Course promotion. Order 6 mains, only have to pay for 3....very worth it. After dinner, we went to Carrefour for our grocery shopping before heading home

Once again, Thank you, Yiyi & Uncle Mark for queueing up in the wee hours of the morning and of cos, STB for this promotion. Hee!

7 big candles

Today is small small GongGong's 70th Birthday.....and we are all heading to Ivins @ Jalan Leban for dinner. Ivins serve Nyonya food. We ordered a lot of dishes, about 15 dishes cos each portion is really small and the price is not expensive at all. All the dishes are rather spicy, but dun worry, there's Children Set. Mummy ordered a Fish Nugget Set for me and it comes with Baked Beans, French Fries, Fish Nuggets and Ice-cream too. For meimei, she has rice with Fish Maw soup and Fishballs. Well, if you like Nyonya food, can consider coming to this restaurant. After dinner, we still order dessert and kueh kueh.....Mummy says she spent less than $100 for everything. Cheap hor!

After dinner, we headed home to cut cake. Yiyi bought an Awfully Chocolate - All Chocolate Cake. I have also prepared a present for GongGong. Its a drawing done by myself. Is it nice?

Here, wishing GongGong Happy Birthday and Many more years to come.....

Post-Valentine Dinner

Daddy & Mummy didnt go for their Valentine Dinner yesterday, instead together with me only, we went to Isetan @ Shaw to grab some Japanese sushi & sashimi for dinner, then we head to Borders to read some books before going home at about 11.30pm. Thats how we spent our Valentine Day.
On Sunday, I went "gai-gai" with Yiyi and Uncle Mark. Mummy went to meet Aunty HY and Aunty Cath at Bugis Junction to finalise the itinerary for our Taiwan trip. Daddy brought meimei out since she didnt get to go out yesterday with us. Daddy went shopping at Cold Storage and saw that Tenderloin was only selling very cheap. S$10 for 3 decent size. Daddy decide to cook a feast to celebrate Post-Valentine Day.
There's wine, Japanese salad (sauce prepared by Daddy) and a very nicely cooked Tenderloin.....yummy!!

Check this out......this is what I have been doing the past 5 weeks in school on Saturday. My school has organised an Arts Enrichment Program for the K1 & K2. It cost $280 for a term of 12 lessons. (Not too expensive, right?). The lesson is from 8.30am to 10.30am. Since I am not attending any enrichment class in the morning, Daddy & Mummy signed me up for this class. For the 1st hr, I will be in the Art appreciation class and the next hr will be the Speech & Drama session. I really have lotsa fun in this class and looking forward to my next term.

Sunday Brunch with a View

Daddy has his "Feed at Raffles" card for almost 1 month liao but we dun hve time to visit any of these restaurant until today. We decided to head to EQUINOX for their Sunday Champagne Brunch.....yippeee.....dining at 70th Floor! Daddy booked a table for 4 at 11.30am. Tutti jiejie didnt join us cos is her OFF day. We reached there slightly late and was ushered to a big table at the corner of the restaurant .... and guess who we met, its GuGu & Uncle Andrew. They are having their Sunday Brunch too and they are sitting just beside us. Its not arranged at all....so coincidence hor.
I ate quite a lot of stuff, like cherry tomatoes, bread with butter, roast duck, apple juice. After filling my tummy, Daddy brought me and meimei to Kids Playroom and there's an Aunty who will help take care of us so Daddy & Mummy can have their meal peacefully.

Inside the playroom, there's a little bouncycastle, a television, some kids food and an easel. Great....I luv drawing so I got Aunty to help get me a paper and I drew a flower, a house and stars on it. Nice or not??
Where's meimei? She went back to find Daddy cos she wanted to take her nap. So, with me busy with my drawing and meimei in her dreamland.....Daddy & Mummy can finally eat in peace. Check out below on some of the food Daddy & Mummy eat .....Champagne, Red Wine (free flow), Caviar, Fois Gras and many more.
Best of all, its dining with such a nice view.

The Sunday Brunch is from 11am to 2pm but we stayed on till 3pm before making our way out......We took the lift back to the 1st floor lobby, took some pix and headed to Suntec for our grocery shopping before heading home. Daddy & Mummy eat so much today.....dun tik they will be having dinner tonite....hehe
