Picnic at Esplanade Bay

Today is the NDP Combined Rehearsel 6 - NE Show 3, the final rehearsel before the NDP Preview. Aunty Jen organised a picnic and I got to meet some of my friends like Isabel & Evan, Athena & Irvin, Jeannieve & Phileuz. Aunty Ros together with Lavigne and Louisa supposed to join us as well but Louisa is down with fever. Hope she gets well soon.

For picnic food, Aunty Jen baked chocolate moist cake, cheese cake, Aunty Mel bought satay from the Makansutra Glutton Bay, there's also waffles, we brought chocolates from home and Daddy bought some chips too. We had a good time snacking while waiting for the parade to start. At about 6.15pm, the parachuters descent from the helicopter marked the start of the NDP rehearsel, followed by marine police chasing a boat, and a chinook flying really close to us, splashing some water onto us.

At about 7pm, one of the key highlights of NDP 09 begin which is the the sailing-in of the ceremonial 25-Pounder Guns for the Presidential Gun Salute. For the first time this year, the Presidential Gun Salute will be fired on the water. It was really loud.....luckily I covered my ears.


After this, it was pretty much waiting for the fireworks. At 8.20pm, the first blast of fireworks flew to the sky and it continued for abt 4mins, before it finally ended. We then packed up the mat, belongings and headed individual way. Thank you, Aunty Jen for organising.


Then, together with Athena, Irvin, Aunty M & Uncle K, we headed to Marina Square Billy Bombers for our dinner. We had Fish & fries, Junior while Daddy & Mummy shared a All-Star Burger. After dinner, Daddy gave them a ride back to Pasir Ris and I get to sit with Athena at the last row and we had fun talking throughout the journey.
